How do we change the model

Breaking patterns and believing in change.

An ineffective model.

In 2012, Brazilian companies carried out performance evaluations of their employees only once a year. This model had been established for years, mainly in large companies that have a very high number of subordinates per leader.

But we knew that these assessments were done only as a bureaucratic process and were not intended to develop people. In some cases they were made just to comply with standards and pass a quality audit.

The big decision In view of this, we at Insight Gestão knew that this practice was limited and did not allow efficient performance management or contribute to the development of employees and their skills. And because we believe in our mission, we decided to break this paradigm and lead a major change in the country's performance culture.

All evaluation systems at the time were focused on the Punctual Model, and we decided to invest time to create content on the subject and put all our focus on building Smartleader, which was based on the continuous management model, and gave power in the hand of leadership, allowing companies to have a constant assessment of their employees and, thus, be able to make more accurate and agile decisions.

Changing the mindset of the market

It was a great challenge, as we had to sensitize and train HR professionals and Leaders for the new model, and at the same time, test the system's functionalities, which included Feedback Records, PDI Creation and Express Assessments in the leader's routine .

We were able to implement our proposal in companies that were willing to innovate and improve their management. Soon, the results began to appear and then companies like Adobe released their continuous model, reinforcing our beliefs and this made many multinationals also adopt it.

The results

Today, we can say that we contributed to this great transformation in performance management in our country, and we feel proud of it. We know that we still have a long way to go to gain leadership engagement and change the thinking of many HR professionals, but we remain firm in our beliefs and the results should speak for themselves.
